libgraphviz-dev software package provides graphviz libs and headers against which to build applications, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libgraphviz-dev
libgraphviz-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libgraphviz-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libgraphviz-dev *
You will get with libgraphviz-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
